Houston is recovering from the largest power outage in history. About half of Houston was without electrical power a week after the hurricane. The second half will take much longer to restore than the first half since the easiest repairs were done first. Our building had power shortly after the storm, though presumably many of our families are still without power at home.

Covenant had a work day on Saturday to remove some large limbs that fell on the back part of the school property and to clean up around the school. Classes began today and we are returning to normal.

Here is a talk from a programming conference about classical education! The talk was given at the 2007 PyCon, a conference for users of the Python programming language. The speaker, Robert M. Lefkowitz,  gives an exposition of ideas from classical education and their application to software development.
